Ex-Tottenham star Chimbonda loses rag in 7-a-side game

Former Tottenham star Pascal Chimbonda admits losing his rag in a 7-a-side game.

The former Sunderland and Spurs star, who made the 2006 France World Cup squad, claimed he got "mad" after opponents repeatedly kicked him.

But what should have been "a bit of fun" ended with Chimbonda getting his marching orders in the Monday night league fixture at Gosforth.

"Someone jumped in with two feet like they wanted to break my legs," claimed the 40-year-old.

"I just came to play for fun, so after that I was mad."

His account was backed up by friend, James Clark, who defended the challenge.

"One of the lads he was playing against kept leaving little digs and at one point jumped two feet into him.

"But later on the ball popped up and, being a typical defender, and he took him out although I thought it was a half-decent tackle.

"But we had played two games off the bounce to be fair."
