Former Tottenham boss Terry Venables says Manchester City must stick with Roberto Mancini - even if they end the season potless.
The pressure will be heaped on Mancini if he fails to win the Premier League.
But Venables told The Sun: "City would be crazy to sack Mancini if they do not win the title.
"Regardless of whether City win or lose the title, Mancini has improved their position this season.
"And whatever happens in the next eight games, he and his players will be better for the experience next season.
"I do not understand why he is under so much pressure. Perhaps it is because it would be United pipping City to the title. Maybe if it were Chelsea at the top there would not be this absurd threat to his position."
