Ex-Sunderland boss Reid disappointed with flat Sessegnon

Former Sunderland boss Peter Reid has been disappointed by Stephane Sessegnon this season.

Reid is calling for greater consistency from the Benin international.

He told Absolute Radio: "Yeah, he's not consistent enough without a doubt. You mean you've got the likes of Johnson, Larsson and you've got the likes of McClean who had a great first season last year and people had just worked him out, so he needs to get a bit more confidence and a bit more streetwise on the pitch.

"They have got some good attacking players. I think when you look at them I think possibly in the middle of the park have they got enough guile with, you know, Cattermole and Colback, I'm not so sure. Certainly going forward you'll expect them to be… because Fletcher is a handful and, you know, I think he's a really good front man, but at the moment it's difficult for them."

Reid was speaking to Ian Wright of Absolute Radio's Rock n' Roll Football. Listen every Saturday from 5pm on 1215AM. For more, visit absoluteradio.co.uk/football.
