Chicago Fire have announced today that the club has signed former Mexican international Pavel Pardo.
The defensive midfielder will be added to the Fire's roster upon the receipt of his P1 Visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
Per club and league policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Guadalajara, Mexico product will be eligible for selection by interim head coach Frank Klopas when the Fire host the Philadelphia Union at Toyota Park on Wednesday, August 3.
"Pavel is a very talented player who can help our team," said Klopas. "Pavel's international credentials and track-record as a professional were defining factors in us bringing Pavel to the Fire.
"He will provide additional depth in the midfield as we push for a playoff spot in the second half of the MLS season."
Pardo joins the Fire from Mexican outfit Club America after stints with German club VfB Stuttgart and homeland sides Tecos and Atlas. He has represented El Tri on 148 0ccasions which is the second most for his nation.
