DC United signing Lewis Neal has appeared to have received his US work permit after participating in training for the first time this week.
The former Stoke City, Preston North End and Orlando City midfielder signed with the Washington club last month but had not yet obtained a visa allowing him to play in North America's top league.
But Neal's presence at DC training suggests that the clearance has now been sorted and he could be free to play for the club when they take on Seattle Sounders this week.
