Former Stoke City and Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham is ready to make his debut for Gibraltar.
Higginbotham will be part of the country's Euro2016 qualifying campaign.
"I believe that you make mistakes in life but shouldn't have any regrets, and it would have been a regret if I'd turned it down," he told the Daily Mail.
"When I get to the end of my career, I can sit back and say that I played international football, regardless of whether or not it was for England. That's something only a fool would turn down.
"Why would you unless you're worried about getting some hammerings? I've had some big beatings before. It's not nice, but if you're prepared to take that chance then so be it."
