Sacked Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is in the frame for the Zenit St Petersburg job.

Zenit are seeking a new coach after the dismissal of Luciano Spalletti this week.

Reports in Russia suggest Villas-Boas, who was dismissed by Spurs three months ago, is considering Zenit's approach and was expected to have further discussions today, says the London Evening Standard.

He would join Zenit with the club 4-2 down ahead of the second leg against the Germans and in second place in the league, two points behind leaders Lokomotiv Moscow.
