Former Tottenham boss Terry Venables is shocked by their decision to sell Michael Dawson.

Dawson is in talks with QPR.

El Tel told The Sun: "I can't believe Spurs are prepared to sell their best defender.

"I am equally surprised no club bigger than QPR have come in for him.

"That is no disrespect to Rangers but I rate Dawson as one of the best central defenders in the Prem."
