Lecce signing Julio Sergio admits he rejected a late move from PSG to remain in Italy.
The former AS Roma goalkeeper completed his transfer to the Stadio Via del Mare this week and turned down the chance to join the French giants.
"It's true, I spoke to Leonardo quite a few times, because he wanted to explain his project for PSG," confessed Julio Sergio.
"Paris Saint-Germain wanted me, but I'd already given my word to Lecce and Coach Eusebio Di Francesco.
"I am glad that I chose Lecce, as Andrea Bertolacci spoke very highly of the atmosphere at this club and I received a warm welcome.
"Clearly it is going to be a very difficult campaign, but first of all we must try to give our all on the pitch."
