Middlesbrough are set to unveil Aitor Karanka as their new manager on Wednesday.
It is believed that the former Real Madrid assistant, who worked closely with Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu, has agreed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Teessiders.
Boro have called a press conference for Wednesday morning where it is expected they will officially announce Karanka as Tony Mowbray's successor following his departure last month.
Karanka had been heavily linked with the vacancy at Crystal Palace but it appears as though he is now headed for the Riverside Stadium in England's north-east rather than down to south London.
