Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano has questioned coach Zinedine Zidane's plans for son Luca.

Zidane is expected to oversee the sale of Keylor Navas and promote Luca to act as second-string goalkeeper behind Thibaut Courtois.

However, Valdano says Zidane will be asking too much of Luca at this stage in his career.

He told Onda Cero: "Luca does not convince me for the position of second goalkeeper, it's too premature.

"I'm not saying that he will not be able to fill that position over time, but you have to see him more often to get that privilege. He's not ready for the role."
