Ex-Real Madrid boss Mourinho: Where's the rat? Is it you, Granero?

Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek says Jose Mourinho's problems with the club's senior players was sparked by one locker room confrontation.El Confidencial has revealed some of the passages from his new book.

Dudek looked back at the time Mourinho was infuriated with what he believed was a "rat" inside the Madrid dressing room ahead of the first Madrid-Barcelona match in his first year at the club.

"Mourinho came into the dressing room with a face like thunder and had a go at us because the press had found out that Pepe was going to play in midfield, something that was supposed to be a secret within the squad. He said is harmed us all, the club and us, the players."

Then the anger escalated: "Where's the rat? Is it you, Granero?, said José pointing at Esteban. He insisted several times that there was a 'rat' in the dressing room and that he would not stop until he found out who. Then he slammed the door and left. That episode, just before playing the final of the Copa del Rey, was the source of all the conflicts that occurred later."
