Ex-Rangers ace Miller departs Cardiff for Vancouver Whitecaps

Kenny Miller has completed his move from Cardiff City to MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps.

The 32-year old Scottish striker has signed on as the Whitecaps' third Designated Player, following fellow Scotsman Barry Robson who arrived in July and French striker Eric Hassli who joined last year.

"I'm delighted to be making this move to Major League Soccer and Vancouver Whitecaps FC," Miller told the club's official website.

"I have heard many great things about the club and the city of Vancouver, and have been impressed by the standard of MLS.

"To have the chance to continue my career in North America with Whitecaps FC is a fantastic opportunity for me and my family."

Head coach Martin Rennie added: "We're delighted to bring an experienced striker like Kenny to our club.

"He has been a proven goalscorer with big clubs in Scotland and played in the England Premier League. His speed, energy, and work rate will be a valuable asset to our club, as we look to have a strong second half of the season in MLS."

Miller kicked off his career with Hibernian in 1998 where he took in a loan with Stenhousemuir before moving to Rangers in 2000. Since then he has spent time with Wolves, Celtic, Derby County, back to Rangers, Bursapor and Cardiff.
