Harry Redknapp has explained his decision to resign from QPR.

Redknapp quit the Rs a fortnight ago ahead of undergoing surgery on both his knees.

"We were promoted last season, I led the team into the Premier League, where we were ready to stay up and I'm sure we will be safe this season.

"I have no regrets, I decided to leave, nobody told me to do it, it was just my decision due to physical complaints. I struggle to stand for knee problems, it also limits my work. How old am I, after all?

"But there is one thing, of which I am sure: I hope and I want to get back into the game soon. I'll always have a great desire, that never goes away."
