Former PSV Eindhoven and Randers midfielder/forward Lee Nguyen has spoken of his delight to be joining Vancouver Whitecaps.
The 25-year old, who has represented the USA national team on three occasions, is back in North America after spending the better part of the past five years in Europe and Vietnam (with Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Binh Duong) and says he is excited about getting a chance in MLS.
"I'm looking to earn a spot in Vancouver and hopefully have a long career there. I've talked to (head coach) Martin Rennie and they're excited to see me in pre-season and what I have to offer. I'm looking forward to it.""I'm looking forward to it," Nguyen said. "I love playing in an atmosphere like Vancouver. I want that pressure.
Nguyen also said that returning to Major League Soccer could open the door for a potential national team return.
"(Juergen) Klinsmann has talked to my agent and they just want to see me play," Nguyen added. "I just hope if I'm playing and he's watching that he likes what he sees."
