Portland Timbers head coach John Spencer has revealed that off-season signing Franck Songo'o is on the verge of making his first appearance for the club.

The 25-year old Cameroonian winger returned to training on Monday for the first time since injuring his knee in February and Spencer was excited after seeing him get through the full session.

"He looked pretty good," Spencer said. "He said he feels fine and that's a huge bonus for us.

"If we see him (Tuesday) and there's no setbacks, hopefully he's in contention for a place on the bench this weekend."
