Ex-NYRB striker Rodgers attracting Brentford, Shrewsbury interest

Portsmouth striker Luke Rodgers is believed to be on the radar of Brentford and Shrewsbury Town according to reports.

The 30-year old Englishman, who has essentially been disallowed to continue with MLS side New York Red Bull because of visa issues, could be on his way for a loan spell away from Fratton Park.

Portsmouth boss Michael Appleton suggests that Rodgers, who was sent on loan by New York to Lillestrom, before joining Pompey in August could soon be on the move.

"There is interest," Appleton toldThe Sun. "We're in dialogue with a couple of clubs."

Rodgers kicked off his career with Shrewsbury back in 1999 and has since played for the likes of Crewe Alexandra, Port Vale and Notts County.
