Ex-Notts County striker Rodgers: It's do or die for Henry-less New York Red Bulls

Luke Rodgers will be carrying the weight of expectations on his shoulders when New York Red Bulls step out for the final regular season game of the 2011 season this weekend.

The New York club need to defeat the visiting Philadelphia Union to assure a play-offs berth but must do so without star striker Thierry Henry who is suspended.

Despite that being the case, former Notts County ace Rodgers - scorer of nine goals from 19 starts this term - is confident he and his Red Bulls teammates can produce the desired result.

"Its win and you're in, lose and you're out. It's up to us now," he said.

"There's no more hiding, no more what if they win and we draw. No more. Win the game. I'm quite positive we're going to win the game, and I'm looking forward to it.

"It can't be a better situation. We've got to win the game, last game of the season; it's there for us.

"I don't want to be coming in Friday out of the playoffs. I don't want that, so I'm going to do everything I can to make sure that's not the case."
