Australian striker Joel Griffiths has departed Chinese Super League club Beijing Guoan to join rivals Shanghai Shenhua.
The 32-year old former Newcastle Jets man will partner up with ex-Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka who made a big-money move to Shanghai last month.
Griffiths, who netted 27 goals in 76 appearances for Beijing, said he was excited about joining one of China's best clubs.
"I love this city and I want to bring honor to the team.""I played against Shanghai Shenhua as a Beijing player before, and I thought they are one of the best clubs in China," Griffiths told local media at the press conference.
Griffiths will rake in around 800,000 ($AUD990,000) for his one-year deal with Shanghai.
