Eintracht Frankfurt fullback Jetro Willems has denied claims he may not be seen for the remainder of the yer.

BILD reported that Willems had been handed a hammer blow with news that he'd be facing nine months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery. They claimed a return to Newcastle was off the agenda because he would be missing until 2021.

But sources close to Willems said there had been no change to the original assessment that he could be back on the pitch by September.

The insider is quoted by the Evening Chronicle: “The comeback remains on schedule, there's not been any new news from Eintracht Frankfurt or from the player himself. He's working to the original plan and we'll see what happens."
