Ex-Newcastle boss Souness: Pardew won't accept Kinnear making decisions

Former Newcastle United boss Graeme Souness feels Alan Pardew is under huge pressure.

Souness has told talkSPORT Joe Kinnear's appointment as director of football at Newcastle is a 'vote of no-confidence' in Pardew.

"It puts Alan Pardew in a very difficult position. As a manager you don't want to be reading or hearing that someone else is coming in to make all the big footballing decisions.

"As a manager you're very well paid but your neck is always on the line. I wouldn't accept someone else making all the big decisions for me and I don't think Alan Pardew will, either. I think it will end up in tears for someone."
