Former Melbourne Victory striker Danny Allsopp put his name forward for a first league start for MLS club DC United. The 31-year old former Victory Player of the Year struck twice as DCU defeated second division club Crystal Palace Baltimore 5-2 in a trial match at RFK Stadium in Washington.
Allsopp was substituted in the 67th minute, soon after scoring his second goal, and his performance is sure to catch the eye of head coach Curt Onalfo as DCU are yet to score this season in their opening two MLS matches.
