Djordjic brands Aston Villa defender Mings 'coward' for Pogba clash in Man Utd defeat

Former Manchester United midfielder Bjorn Djordjic has slammed Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings after an apparent elbow on Paul Pogba.

During Friday's victory for United, Pogba was left bloodied after a clash with Mings and required treatment.

Djordjic, calling the game on Viaplay, was adamant Mings meant to injure the France midfielder.

Quoted by Expressen, he snapped: "It's dirty and ugly, this is cowardly.

"Mings is a coward, and not punishing that is just ridiculous. I hate such actions and this is not the first time Tyler Mings has done that."

The incident occured midway through the first-half, though Pogba was able to recover and play out the remainder of the opening stanza.

France midfielder Pogba would eventually earn the matchwinning penalty, converted by Bruno Fernandes, late in the game.

The victory saw United move into second-place on the Premier League table, level on points with defending champions Liverpool which lead on goal difference.

Djordjic is now a popular pundit, working in Sweden and England, calling games. A former Sweden U21 international, the former winger spent six years at United and was named the club's Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year for the 1999/2000 season.
