Former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Shandong Luneng has announced the diagnosis upon Fellaini returing to China for the season restart on April 18.
Fellaini arrived in Jinan by train on March 20, where he underwent a test. It is not clear where and how the Belgian contracted the virus. He spent some time in the United Arab Emirates and took a plane from Singapore to China, after which he made a train trip, according to the Chinese media.
Fellaini, a former player of Standard Liège, Everton and Manchester United, made the switch to Shandong Luneng last year. In his first year, he scored thirteen goals and the club finished fifth in the league.
He is now set for 14 days of quarantine.
