Recently-retired forward Jovan Kirovski has returned to LA Galaxy as assistant coach ahead of the 2012 MLS season.
The 35-year old former USA international hung up his boots on a successful career at the culmination of the 2011 campaign and will now step into coaching, joining Bruce Arena's staff which guided the club to last season's MLS Cup.
"I am excited for the future and I am excited to remain a part of this club," Kirovski said. "It was a great experience for me to be able to have had the playing career that I did and I am proud with where I have played and what I accomplished, especially the last few years here with the Galaxy, now I am looking forward to this next step of my career with a club that means so much to me."
Kirovski kicked off his career with Manchester United in 1993 and has since spent time with Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon, Crystal Palace and Birmingham City before moving to MLS with the Galaxy in 2004.
Since then he has played with Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes before returning to Carson for the past three seasons with the Galaxy.
