Ex-Man Utd, Atletico Madrid striker Forlan ponders Swedish option

Former Manchester United and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan is being linked with a return to Europe.

Forlan is currently playing in Japan with Cerezo Osaka, but is open to a move to Sweden.

"He wants to play for a big club who are involved in fighting for titles. But it can be a big club in a small football league too. Scandinavia is not excluded. It's not about the money for him anymore, but he wants two things: the sports, but also the quality of life, he'll end up in a good place," Terje Liveröd told fotbolldirekt.se.

"Sweden is not out of this in the context, but I have not checked with clubs in Sweden. I do not know if it might be interesting for clubs. It is clear that a name like Diego Forlan, he gets many offers; from Arab countries, South America and so on. We have received a number of concrete offers, but not yet anything interesting enough. I think when you boil it down, there some leagues that can be an option for him."
