Stuart Pearce believes Garry Monk is the only person than could challenge Jose Mourinho for this season's Manager of the Year award.
The 36-year old has led the Welsh club to eighth position in the Premier League this season and only the title-winning boss at Chelsea would outpoint him this term according to the former Manchester City and England U21 coach.
"I'm a great lover of people who win things and Mourinho has won the league by a large amount of points," he said on Monday's talkSPORT Drivetime show.
"Eight points is a big gap and they still have a game in hand; they've done fanatically well.
"He's also won the League Cup as well, he's won two trophies this season and that, for me, makes him manager of the year.
"Closely behind him, I think Garry Monk has had a fantastic season at Swansea. He's new to management but he's done brilliantly.
"I was unsure about how they would fare this season to be honest but, and bearing in mind they sold their top scorer and record signing Wilfried Bony in January, Swansea have done really well."
