Ex-Lokomotiv Moscow president Smorodskaya: Granoskaia too big a name to now work in Russian football

Former Lokomotiv Moscow president Olga Smorodskaya doesn't expect Marina Granovskaia to move to Russian football.

Granovskaia has left her role as managing director at Chelsea, it was announced this morning.

Smorodskaya reacted, telling Sport-Express: "Granovskaia is a very big and successful manager with a very good reputation not only in the UK, but in Europe in general. Earning such a reputation is difficult, you need to have many different talents. Therefore, I think that, most likely, she will not want to continue working in Russia.

"She will have offers in Europe, maybe even in the UK. Yes, she could help Russian football, but for this it was necessary to appoint Granovskaia when she was still a no-name.

"When (Roman) Abramovich took her, she was a no-name, just a talented person. Well, no one goes for it, there are no new faces in our football, especially women."
