Ex-Loko president Naumov in new Rangnick blast: How he became Man Utd coach, no one knows

Former Lokomotiv Moscow president Nikolai Naumov has taken fresh aim at Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick will take charge of Austria when he leaves Manchester United at the end of this season. The move will see the German cut ties with Loko, where he was set to work as a football advisor.

Naumov barked to Sport-Express: “Rangnick has a name that works for him. First we work for our name, and then it works for us.

"How he became (United) coach, no one knows. It didn't work out there, it didn't work out here, here it hit commerce. But the name works and has worked in the case of the Austrian national team. The Austrians apparently thought that Rangnik would train their national team well.

"God forbid, but now I doubt his abilities as a coach. Not because he is untalented, but because a person must be either a coach or a businessman. It seems to me that nothing good will come of this venture."
