Ex-Liverpool winger Kewell to make decision on future next week

Harry Kewell will soon make a decision on his playing future with Melbourne Victory or a trio of clubs in the Middle East tipped to secure his services.

The former Liverpool, Leeds United and Galatasaray winger has been heavily linked with a return to Australia with the Victory leading the race from Sydney FC but recent reports says three clubs in the Persian Gulf are hot on his heels.

Saudi Arabia's Al Nassr and the United Arab Emirates' Al-Ahli and Al Jazira are believed to have all offered Kewell a guaranteed $4millon for one year and he is now talking through his options with his family and agent Bernie Mandic.

The Dubai-based agent who has offered Kewell to the trio of clubs has revealed that the 32-year old Australia international is soon set to make a decision.

"My belief is that it's a 50-50 situation regarding Harry and whether or not he will come to the Gulf or go back home to Australia," Mohaned Oun Alhrabi said.

"There are three offers there for him and they are all waiting on what he wants to do.

"He is talking to his family and that will be a factor in his decision. The sort of money being offered reflects the calibre of player he is. He would be a star here."
