Ex-Liverpool, Sunderland striker Cisse announces retirement plans

Former Liverpool, QPR and Sunderland striker Djibril Cisse is set to retire at the end of this season.

The France star, now 33, has only appeared once for Bastia in Ligue 1 this season although he scored twice in the League Cup this week.

"24/7, I am in pain," Cisse revealed. "In the evening watching TV, all the time. I will be in pain all my life unless I have a hip replacement.

"For one season, I can grit my teeth but two or three, that is not doable. Therefore last season, I think."
