Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge could resume his career in Italy.

Sturridge is currently serving a four-month ban for breaching betting rules, which will be completed at the end of next month.

He was released from his contract by Trabzonspor this season by mutual consent.

Gazzetta dello Sport's Nicolo Schira reports Sturridge is in negotiations with Serie BBenevento.

Benevento are set to be promoted to Serie A and Sturridge is willing to join them next season. The England international is seeking a three-year contract.
