Ex-Liverpool striker Sturridge hails 'amazing' Klopp: Quadruple not required to mark successful season

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is happy seeing Jurgen Klopp's team thriving this season.

The Perth Glory striker spoke to BBC Radio this morning.

He said, "It's been a huge success in terms of the performances, the attacking, the defending. They've got huge depth within the squad which has enabled the manager to rotate when needed, the pose opposition different problems.

"Everyone talks about the quadruple and the opportunity they have there to create history. For me in the season, they've started so well and they're at the business end of the season now and I think that if they win a couple of three trophies then that is a success. If they do the quadruple then it's an even bigger success. The players will know what the task is at hand and what they have to do to achieve those things and the manager will be doing everything possible to get the boys prepared for that."

On what it's like to work with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, Sturridge continued: "Fantastic, he gets the best out of the players, he sets the team up very well, on and off the pitch everybody knows their roles, everybody knows what the expectations are of not only him but representing Liverpool Football Club.

"He's done an absolutely amazing job. Since he's joined the club they've been in final after final, challenging for Premier Leagues and I think everybody should be happy and grateful for the ownership to put in faith and finding Jurgen as the manager and helping the club move forward on a whole."
