Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam has lifted the lid on a "battle" between Luis Suarez and Jamie Carragher at the club.

Adam was talking about some of the top players he played with at the club.

And while speaking with BBC Radio Lancashire, he mentioned how two of the club's best ever players, Suarez and Carragher, would often go head to head in training.

Adam explained: "I remember days when [Suarez] and Carragher would kick lumps out of each other.

"It was a battle - Carragher loved it and Suarez loved it.

"They would leave a bit on each other, never react in a way that was over the top.

"They both had each other's back and would be at it every day."
