Ex-Liverpool, Man City keeper James not offered new Bristol deal

David James will leave Bristol City this summer after being told he will not be offered a new contract.

The 41-year old former England, Liverpool, Manchester City and Portsmouth goalkeeper joined the Robins in August 2010 but is no longer required by the Championship club who have also released seven other players.

Bristol boss Derek McInnes is looking to freshen his squad after finishing 20th on the tier two table and has also released Jamie McAllister, Jamal Campbell-Ryce as well as youth academy players Christian Ribeiro, Marlon Jackson, Dan Ball and Henry Muggeridge.
