Ex-Liverpool, Leeds United ace Kewell close to retirement

Harry Kewell admits his football career may soon be over if he does not find a new club.

The former Leeds United, Liverpool and Galatasaray winger is currently without a club after leaving Melbourne Victory at the end of last season but has been unsuccessful in his bid to continue his career back in the UK.

Kewell has been linked with the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Swindon Town and even Stoke City but he suggests he will contemplate retirement if nothing comes his way in the near future.

"If something comes up and it is the right thing for me I will have a look at it," he told Sky Sports.

"But I am happy to move on with a different career."

He added in regards to receiving any offers: "None at all, it has been difficult when you have been out of the country for a while but that is how it goes in football."
