Ex-Liverpool defender Vignal: French talking about Gerrard and PSG

Former Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has been backed for the PSG job.

Gregory Vignal has said "why not" to former Liverpool teammate Gerrard's credentials for the PSG job.

Christoph Galtier has come under pressure in recent weeks in the French capital and as a result, the Reds icon has been mooted with the role.

Gerrard has been out of the dugout since he was sacked by Aston Villa in October but the 41-year-old believes he is "ready to crack on".

"I'm pretty sure that Steven is ready to crack on again," the former Liverpool and Rangers left-back told the Scottish Daily Express. "I think he is strong enough mentally to start a new project.

"Why not Paris Saint-Germain? They have been talking about him. I am sure he can get a good job soon whether that is in the Premier League or abroad."
