Former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren is delighted with his move to Zenit St Petersburg.

Lovren is adamant he's joined the biggest club in Russia.

He said, "I knew that Zenit is the strongest team in Russia, the champion of the last two years, and this season it is also the winner of the Cup.

"It was important for me not only because of the status, but also because strong teammates are waiting for me in this club. I knew that Zenit pays a lot of attention to European competitions and especially to the Champions League. This is also important to me.

"I have already left my mark on this tournament, but this is not enough for me - now I want to pass on my experience to new teammates and help the team go as far as possible."
