Ex-Leeds United striker Grella nets double as Bury move mid-table

Mike Grella scored a match-winning brace as Bury moved to 12th on the English League One table with a 4-2 win at Notts County on the weekend.

The American striker, who joined the Shakers on a short-term deal in February, netted in the 49th and 67th minutes at Meadow Lane to give Bury a 3-1 lead before late a goal each from both teams.

The double took Grella's goal tally to four in eight appearances since he departed Brentford who he joined from Leeds United in August 2011.

Grella is out of contract in the summer but his performances so far have given him every chance of winning a permanent deal with the Gigg Lane outfit.
