Middlesbrough are closing in on experienced defender Frazer Richardson after his Southampton departure.
The 30-year old right-back left St Mary's earlier this summer and has emerged on the radar of Boro boss Tony Mowbray.
Richardson kicked off his career with Leeds United in 2001 before moving to Charlton Athletic in 2009. During his time at Southampton, he made a total of 68 appearances for the Saints.
