Ex-Lazio sports chief Tare: I didn't get along with Sarri

Former Lazio sports chief Igli Tare admits he didn't get along with coach Maurizio Sarri.

Tare let the Lazio job last year.

He told Radio Serie A: "I consider him a good coach, but outside the pitch it's difficult to create a relationship in the field, we had a lot of difficulty communicating with each other.

"We were all aware of this communication limit that he has, but the choice made three years ago was born because the Inzaghi era was coming to an end and there was a need to revolutionize and create a shocking project, opposite to what we had with Inzaghi. I chose to take him to Rome, in agreement with the presidency. I have never had any problems with him, he also confirmed this to me in a dinner before the last match of last year's championship.

"Revenge is part of our job. There are always different visions, but ours must match for the good of Lazio, what matters is the common objective. In the end, what counts is the objective, we can't all go the same way I always agree. Last year's second place was the result of excellent work done by the team, the coach and all the staff. He had to make the team make the leap in quality; instill in youngsters the awareness of being able to fight for these objectives. Our path was based on the valorization of the kids and not on investments to buy others. I am proud to have contributed to the rebirth, after a dark period, of this club."
