Craig Bryson says he will do everything in his power to help fellow Scot Johnny Russell adjust to his new surroundings.
The 23-year old striker has left Dundee United to join ex-Kilmarnock midfielder Bryson at Derby County and the Rams regular is looking to help him settle quickly at Pride Park so they can push the club towards the top of the Championship table next season.
"I think it was good for Johnny to have someone to speak to," Bryson told SunSport.
"I was basically his tour guide and showed him the best places to live. When we start back for preseason I'll try and help Johnny settle in as much as possible.
"I'm sure he'll settle in no bother. Derby were excellent with me over moving down south and away from my family.
"I'm sure they'll do the same with Johnny.
"I think Johnny will be an excellent signing. The way Derby play will really suit him. The manager asked me about him a couple of times and I spoke highly of him.
"He can play in the Championship no bother and he can be a massive success at Derby. He's scored different kinds of goals and I'm sure in this team he'll get a lot of chances to do that."
