Ex-Juventus defender Legrottaglie interested in A-League move

Catania defender Nicola Legrottaglie has revealed that the notion of playing in Australia 'fascinates' him.

The 36-year old Italian, who has previously played with Juventus, AC Milan, Chievo Verona and AC Siena, is unsure of his future with the Rossazzurri and could be lured down under to continue his career in the A-League.

"I haven't spoken to the club yet," Legrottaglie told La Repubblica.

"I am happy here and would never push to leave but if the club decides not to make me a proposal, then I would evaluate others, even if they were abroad.

"The idea of Australia fascinates me.

"Age does not matter, as I am in good shape and take it one year at a time."

And Legrottaglie said that he is excited by the idea of again playing alongside ex-Juventus teammate Alessandro Del Piero who is currently starring with Sydney FC.

"It would be a pleasure to play with Alex Del Piero," he said.
