Former Inter Milan striker Adriano says his latest round of controversy at Flamengo is due to a dodgy belly.

Adriano went missing from Flamengo training and is facing disciplinary action.

But the Brazilian said: "Last night I was sick. At some point I woke up from the pains in my stomach, I had a bad diarrhea.

"I called the club and advised that it would not be possible to train, I have tried to treat it so that my performance was not affected."
