Former Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has mixed emotions about the signing of Nemanja Vidic.
The Manchester United captain will arrive in the summer as a free agent.
Moratti said: "He's a major player, with experience in defence.
"Certainly it might mean that Walter Samuel is no more, and this is a disappointment because he is still proving to be strong.
"But it's good to look around, as a precaution, and it seems to me that he was a prudent purchase."
