Former Hull City manager Phil Brown has emerged as the new favourite to take over at Sheffield United.

Brown has been widely tipped to step into Gary Speed's soon-to-be-vacated position at Bramall Lane when the current Blades boss takes the Wales national team job.

The 51-year old narrowly missed out on the Sheffield job to Speed in the summer but reports suggest that he is at the top of the list to lead the Championship club.
