Former Hull City boss Phil Brown was disappointed by George Boateng's outburst at the end of last season.
Boateng claimed Brown had lost the changing room and pinpointed his famous half-time on-field rant at Manchester City on Boxing Day in 2008 as the moment the players turned against their former boss.
"He (Boateng) came out with a tirade of abuse after I left," Brown said.
"I was disappointed by that because the amount of one to ones I had with George and the amount of times I had to pick him off the floor.
"I know he always had that great smile and always played the game with his heart on his sleeve, but I was disappointed.
"He's talking about a team-talk that happened 18 months ago. He said I lost the changing room.
"But we survived that season and then almost survived a second season."
