Former Hull City and Bolton Wanderers No2 Phil Brown is keen on the Aberdeen job.
Brown has been out of work since his dismissal by Hull last season.
"I would certainly be interested in the position," he said. "It is a great opportunity for somebody. I am happy to make it public knowledge that I would be happy to speak to them. In the last six or seven months I have been studying Scottish football, as well as that in other countries, from afar. I have been doing a lot of travelling, having a look at different coaching methods in different countries, enjoying my time off.
"Now I am keen to get back involved in football. The chance to take charge of a club which, outwith Celtic and Rangers, is one of the biggest in Scotland is very appealing to me."
