Former Huddersfield boss David Wagner has been named new manager of Schalke.
The German replaces interim boss Huub Stevens, who took over after Domenico Tedesco was sacked following the team's 7-0 loss to Manchester City in a Champions League last 16 tie in March.
"Wagner has made a highly-motivated return to the Bundesliga and signed a contract with the Royal Blues until 30 June 2022," the club said on their official website.
Wagner stepped down in January at Huddersfield, with the club rooted to the bottom of the table throughout the campaign and were relegated under Wagner's replacement Jan Siewert.
