Former FC Groningen coach Pieter Huistra says Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk can make it in England.
The Dutchman has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham and Southampton.
Huistra, who worked with Van Dijk at Groningen, said: "I know Virgil loves Celtic and is happy in Glasgow. But if a club with ambition goes for him, it is difficult to say 'no'.
"He's a smart guy, who is not driven by big money, even though that's a bonus. He regards his career always the most important.
"Now he's at a point where he must advance, but he's the only one who can make such a decision. It is logical that Virgil looks for a big club in a big league. That's the next step for him."
